Legal Privacy
Privacy Policy.
How we collect, use and protect your information, and the choices you have.
Lex Auxilium ("we", "us", "our") provides remote legal and financial support to law firms and businesses across the United States, Australia and Canada. We respect your privacy and we are careful with the information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect through our website and in the course of our work, how we use it, and the choices you have.
01Information we collect
We collect information in three broad ways:
- Information you give us. When you complete our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, firm or company name, the service you are interested in, and anything you choose to write in your message.
- Client engagement information. When you become a client, we handle documents, records and data that you provide so that we can carry out the work you have asked us to do. This material is processed under your instruction and within the terms of your engagement.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record limited technical data such as your approximate location, browser type, device and pages visited. We use this only to keep the site secure and to understand general usage.
02How we use your information
We use the information we collect to respond to your enquiries, to provide and improve our services, to manage our engagements with clients, to keep our systems secure, and to meet our legal and professional obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
03Client and matter confidentiality
Confidentiality sits at the centre of how we work. Any information we handle on behalf of a client is treated as confidential and is processed only to deliver the agreed work. Access is limited to the people assigned to your engagement, each of whom is bound by confidentiality obligations. We maintain a written confidentiality and security framework, and we will enter into a non-disclosure agreement and complete security onboarding before any client work begins.
04How we share information
We share information only where it is necessary and appropriate:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate, such as hosting, email and security tools, under obligations of confidentiality.
- With a client, in relation to that client's own engagement and the work we carry out for them.
- Where we are required to do so by law, regulation, legal process or a professional obligation.
We never sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
05Cookies and analytics
Our website aims to use cookies sparingly. Any cookies that are present are used to keep the site working correctly and to understand general, aggregated usage. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so should not prevent you from reading the site.
06Data security
We use organisational and technical measures designed to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls, secure tooling and staff confidentiality obligations. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to review our safeguards regularly.
07International transfers
Because we serve clients in the United States, Australia and Canada and operate remotely, information may be processed in a country other than the one in which you are located. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information continues to be protected to an appropriate standard.
08Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, to meet our legal and professional obligations, and to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or anonymise it.
09Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access it, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to or restrict certain uses. To make a request, please contact us at hello@lexauxilium.com and we will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.
10Children's privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and professionals. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we will revise the date shown above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
