Swarnendu Chatterjee is a Managing Associate in L&L Partners Law Offices (Litigation), a premier full-service law firm having been enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of West Bengal in the year 2013. Sir is a qualified Advocate-On-Record designated by Supreme Court of India.

Sir has been associated with L&L Partners since January 2020 and is currently working with Mr. Wasim Beg, Partner. Sir majorly looks after the Dispute Resolution practice and possesses considerable experience in Corporate and Commercial disputes, Litigation and ADR. He specializes in Civil Law, Constitutional Law, Insolvency Laws, Taxation Laws, Labor Law, Criminal Law and Arbitration.

Sir has worked in many fields of law and his experience of over seven years extends to virtually all aspects of litigation and arbitration. He has extensive experience in both domestic and international jurisdictions. Sir has a vast experience of briefing senior counsels and had assisted doyens of the bar in several matters of constitutional importance, including the entry tax matter and the matter of Dhanraj Mahto involving MICA and MMTC before the Jharkhand High Court in 2015/16 and before the Supreme Court in 2016.

Along with the massive professional experience, Sir has also contributed to the field of research extensively. Sir has always taken keen interest towards research and has more than 30 paper publication under his umbrella. Among many of them, His papers titled “Electoral Campaigns and Freedom of Speech: The Need for a fetter”, “Governor v. Speaker: A constitutional Conundrum and Tussle for power”, “Increase of Threshold-Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code,2016: And Act done in Haste?” was published on the SCC Online Blog. Apart from that he has also got his paper titled “Independent Directors- How Independent are they?” published on Jus Corpus Law Journal and “Freedom of Press- Is it absolute?” on Law Essentials Journal

Sir also has successfully represented clients and argued various matters in more than 5 High Courts, National Company Law Tribunals and the Supreme Court. Wasim has successfully argued applications for recovery before the Debt Recovery Tribunal, Company Petitions and Insolvency Proceedings etc., on behalf of leading financial institutions and Non-Banking Financial Companies, Labour Unions, Logistic Companies and Private Individuals.
