The Narcotics Control Bureau has filed a criminal complaint against the actor Rhea Chakraborty and three of her friends with an accusation of consumption of banned substances under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The criminal complaint was registered by the NCB on Wednesday after the Enforcement Directorate made them aware of the WhatsApp Conversations of the actor Rhea Chakraborty with various suspected drug dealers about the banned substances. Three other people along with the actor have also been booked under Sections 20, 22, 27 and 29 of the NDPS Act including Samuel Miranda. However, the advocate of the actor, Adv. Satish Maneshinde has been denying all the accusations on the actor and had stated that the actor has never indulged in such unlawful activities and is ready to appear for a blood test in order to prove her innocence in the matter. Her advocate also raised questions on the involvement of all three agencies one after another in the case.
The NCB has also stated in the status quo that the complaint has been registered after taking legal advice from the experts in the following matter.
